Thai Yoga Bodywork

Thai Yoga Bodywork, also known as Thai Massage or Traditional Thai Yoga Massage, is truly a restorative and healing practice. It is a culmination of Ayurvedic principles (the ancient system of medicine from India), Thai healing systems of Sen lines (energy lines of the body), and the physical and direct application of Metta (Pali for Loving Kindness) from practitioner to recipient. The core pillar of Thai Yoga is that each person has within them their own inner pharmacy, capable of healing from and within our own bodies. This bodywork restores the innate balance of our internal systems by coming into alignment in our physical and energetic aspects of being.

Thai Yoga incorporates various techniques such as stretching, traction, graduated pressure techniques along the energy lines of the body, breath and body synchronicity, rhythmic rocking, and clear communication throughout the session with giver and receiver. This leaves the recipient feeling a sense of safety, ease, and relaxation that relieves tension in the body, brings calm to the mind, and truly brings balance to your wellbeing.

What to expect with Thai Yoga Bodywork?

Come to your session wearing comfortable, stretchy clothing that you would wear for a yoga class. An initial inquiry into your innate energetic constitution (known as your Dosha in Ayurvedic Medicine) may be conducted on your first session to customize the experience to your specific needs for restoring balance in your body and mind. The session will incorporate passive yoga poses, breath synchronicity, massage techniques and palpation along the energy lines of the body.
